Black Walnut and Chrome Ballpoint Twist Pen
AMERICAN BLACK WALNUT - Juglans nigra
American Black Walnut is medium to dark brown with darker streaks running through. It can have areas of lighter coloured sapwood. It is typically straight-grained, but can sometimes display a wavy pattern. With an oil finish, American Black Walnut can turn a dark brown colour.
Turned on May 16th 2014 from seasoned American Black Walnut again on the Llangollen Canal at Grindley Brook. It is finished in several coats of boiled linseed oil and cyanoacrylate to give a hard wearing deep gloss finish that really complements the mid brown tones of this wood. Black Walnut pens make great everyday pens that aren't too show-off-ey.
